Meet the Grow Together Team

We’re a group of professional coaches, educators, entrepreneurs, creatives, parents, and advocates for building rewarding relationships.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

All couples deserve to feel connected and in love despite the challenges of early parenthood.

Needing help is normal

It's a common sentiment that if we need support we must be broken, but it’s not true. We're not taught these skills and principles and it’s crucial to take time to learn them.

Everything is welcome

All parts of you are important to us, from the “darkest” ones to your favorites. We believe multiple, conflicting things can be true at once, and we invite your full humanity.

Empathy, principles, action

While we’re all impacted by our environments,
we do have agency. You deserve both compassion for what you’ve been through, and a real path towards positive change.

CEO, LEAD EDUCATOR AND COACH, CO-FOUNDER

After a major in math and a brief stint as a professional poker player, I had a quarter-life crisis and realized that what I really love to do is talk to people about their feelings. For my friends and family, I was always that person they went to for support and advice, and I relished being able to listen, help them open up, and successfully navigate their issues.

It became clear I wanted a career in the helping professions, so I enrolled in life coaching school and eventually completed a master’s in psychology, certificates in leadership, trauma, and sex education, and extensive training in couples work. I also started my own private coaching practice, supporting thousands of individuals and couples over the last 13 years.

In my life, I’ve been continually drawn to romantic relationships — an interest that started as a child of divorce, then strengthened when I fell madly in love at age 11 and experienced all the immense ups and downs. As I grew older, a strange paradox became clear: while romantic relationships are among the top three most important things to almost everyone, so many people seem to be unhappy in them. I’m driven to help people prevent this suffering and empower them to make romance more fulfilling.

And I try every day to practice what I preach! I’ve been with my wife, Liz, for 12 years. We have two boys (August, 7, and Levon, 5) and a puppy (Luna). There have been some really gnarly periods; the first year of two kids is no joke. But I can sincerely say that we love our relationship. While we’re far from some perfect love story, we’ve done hundreds of hours of therapy and continually put in the work to be the best people and partners we can be.

When I’m not studying a new form of couples therapy, dreaming up new courses, books, films, and art projects that could help more people, or obsessing over communication best practices and the meaning of life, you’re likely to find me getting tattooed, doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or at my (somewhat embarrassing) happy place: the golf course.

COO, CO-FOUNDER

I have a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship (yes, that exists!), and I’m obsessed with systems and Monopoly. I love figuring out how every puzzle piece in business fits together, from efficient operations to strategic growth strategy, and I’ve been working as a leader in startups and small businesses my entire career.

I’ve been with my husband for over 10 years, have two small children under 4, and serve as Vice Chair on the board of Westside Baby, a non-profit that provides essential items to children and families in need. I’m incredibly passionate about improving the child care industry and helping parents live their best lives: full of joy, connection, thoughtfulness, and fun. That, along with my personal and professional experience, is what brought me to BYR.

A few fun and random things about me are that I’m a published poet and a certified interior designer (hello, new-motherhood identity crisis!). I love libraries, escape rooms, Italian restaurants, and ice hockey (Go Kraken!); and I met my husband while on my own Eat Pray Love-like journey in France. À bientôt !

CREATIVE DIRECTOR, CO-FOUNDER

As an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker, I’m attracted to stories about mortality, sex, spirituality, and mental health. I was a birth doula at 19 and studied death and dying in college before going to graduate school for film. As a former creative producer and editor at Masterclass and OMGYES, I’m thrilled to take BYR into the digital space in a way that is visually beautiful, anchored in intimate storytelling, and accessible to everyday parents.

I have two young boys and I’ve been with my husband on and off for 20 years, but solidly united for the last 8. Being a parent is wildly fulfilling, but it’s also the hardest thing I’ve ever done! My transition into motherhood was fraught with fatigue and a longing for my old self. However, naming the loss and normalizing the growing pains of new parenthood was the first step in rediscovering my vitality. Now, I’m currently living the quintessential California beach lifestyle in Ventura, California and enjoy schlepping my boys around town and indulging in my most important hobby: self-care.

HEAD SUPPORT COACH

I have been a family coach for the past 7 years and have my complex trauma certificate through the NARM Institute. I am the Lead Facilitator for COR Experience (workshops that combine ancient techniques and modern neuroscience to help people face their fears) and I lead personal and spiritual growth retreats for men and women.

I have been with my husband, Nick, for 15 years and I’m a mother of toddler twin girls — Cassie and Alina — and cat mom to Charlie. I love good IPAs, wine tasting, and all things Disney (movies, music, and of course Disneyland)!

SUPPORT COACH

I’ve been coaching for 2 years and am a certified practitioner in Compassionate Inquiry (CI), a trauma-informed approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that weaves together neuroscience, mindfulness, and attachment-based psychotherapy. I also have spent over 8 years studying indigenous healing practices.

My love for developmental and healing work comes from my own journey emigrating from the Middle East at 16. I struggled through anxiety, depression, fires, and heartbreak. I’m proud that I moved through it all to live a life full of deep connection, meaning, and purpose. I’ve been with my husband Bijou for 3 years and we just had our first child in June, 2023. I love traveling, experiencing different cultures and cuisines, hiking, reading, and dancing.
